EcoKai provides comprehensive Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) services to support compliance with the California State Water Resources Control Board Construction General Permit (CGP) and local stormwater requirements. With extensive experience supporting construction projects across Southern California, we assist clients through all phases of stormwater compliance—from initial permit coverage and SWPPP preparation to ongoing monitoring, inspections, and reporting.
We develop project-specific SWPPPs that identify potential pollutant sources and establish appropriate Best Management Practices (BMPs) to minimize stormwater impacts during construction. Our plans incorporate site-specific conditions such as grading, drainage patterns, soil characteristics, and construction sequencing to ensure effective stormwater management and regulatory compliance. Our team also provides ongoing SWPPP implementation and compliance support, including routine site inspections, rain event monitoring, stormwater sampling, and documentation. We perform sampling and analysis in accordance with applicable permit requirements, including monitoring for parameters including turbidity and pH, and coordinate laboratory analysis when required. Inspection reports, sampling records, and corrective action documentation are prepared to maintain compliance with permit monitoring and reporting requirements.
In addition, we manage electronic reporting and permit compliance through the Stormwater Multiple Application and Report Tracking System (SMARTS), including Change of Information (COI) and Notice of Intent (NOI) submittals, monitoring Ad Hoc reports, and Annual Reports, and other required documentation. Our experience allows us to efficiently navigate the regulatory process and help projects remain in compliance while minimizing disruptions to construction activities. Our goal is to provide practical, field-oriented solutions that protect water quality while supporting efficient project completion.
EcoKai has performed SWPPP services for numerous projects throughout Southern California including for the Santa Monica–Malibu Unified School District, California State University Northridge, Mt. San Antonio College, the City of Santa Clarita, Chaffey College, Los Angeles City College, and the Norton Simon Museum, as well as many private development projects.
