Spring Survey and Hydrogeologic Characterization, Llano- Texas
Date: September 2012
By: Jim Burton, PE

EcoKai staff completed a groundwater resource survey and qualitative hydrogeologic characterization for a private ranch owner in Llano, Texas. The purpose of the assessment was to ascertain if water produced from on-site springs could be used as a drinking water supply or possible small water bottling operation.

The project involved a literature search from the Texas Water Development Board, mapping of known fault lines through the property, and water quality analysis of water collected from the springs. Fracture patterns in the rock were studied to determine likely locations of on-site springs and confirm the groundwater flow patterns to known springs on the property.

EcoKai completed the assessment on time and within the allocated budget.
